    According to the above provisions, in vehicle accidents after identification, the relevant departments to make the appraisal conclusion within 5 days, the traffic police shall notify the motor vehicle party to get back the vehicle. In general, the identification should not exceed 20 days.
   So, the traffic police can not be indefinitely detained vehicle accident. In general, the longest 20 days, the motor vehicle party may request the traffic police returned the accident vehicle.
