Ordinary legal aid scheme: Civil procedure: covers the case categories include family and matrimonial disputes, personal injury claims, disputes, contract disputes, immigration matters and professional negligence claims. Criminal procedure: covers the magistrates court for trial procedure (delivered by the magistrate decide whether there is sufficient evidence to the delivery of high court trial or sentence procedure), in the district court and the court of first instance trial of the case, the case on appeal the court ruling, as well as to the court of appeal of the high court or the court of final appeal cases. The legal aid scheme: This plan beyond the ordinary legal aid scheme for amount of financial resources, and does not exceed an amount of people. Plan for personal injury, medical, dental or legal professional negligence litigation, damages is likely to exceed $60000. The plan also covers according to "the Employees Compensation Ordinance" claim or action, claim amount is no limit.
Economic review: As a civil case, whether you apply for legal aid or ordinary legal aid scheme, your financial resources must not exceed the legal limit. In some cases, DLA or based on cases involving violation of certain basic human rights litigation issue, exemption from the financial resource limit.
If a criminal case, DLA as given that the applicant legal help to uphold justice, can be exempted from the provisions of financial resource limit and grant aid.
The case review: In civil cases, you must have sufficient grounds for bringing or defending. As to the criminal cases such as the trial, help to uphold justice, will be granted legal aid. As to the criminal appeal cases, the applicant must have sufficient grounds for appeal.
